United States of America - September 26, 2008 --

Domestic violence touches the lives of millions of Americans each year, yet many people do not realize that financial control is one of the most common and silent ways an abuser keeps a victim from leaving a dangerous relationship. To help raise awareness and help economically empower survivors, THERESA KATHRYN BUSINESS BAGS is promoting The Allstate Foundation's "Tell a GAL P.A.L." program through October 3.

"Tell a GAL P.A.L." is an educational program designed to shine the spotlight on domestic violence and financial abuse by encouraging Americans to "Pass It On, Act & Learn" about domestic violence to get themselves, or someone they care about, out of a bad situation. As part of the program, "The Apprentice" alum Tammy Trenta, former financial planner and current CEO of Theresa Kathryn Business Bags, is speaking to Allstate employees at Allstate's Home Office in Northbrook, Ill. about achieving financial security in an uncertain economy through financial empowerment.

As part of the campaign, "Tell a Gal P.A.L." is encouraging Americans to donate nearly new purses and other professional bags to outfit survivors with confidence as they enter or re-enter the workforce and get back on their feet. The purses and professional bags collected will be distributed through Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that promotes economic independence for disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and a network of support to help them thrive in work and life.

Theresa Kathryn is asking all women to support this program and donate a nearly new purse or professional bag at participating Allstate Agency Owner locations. Participating locations can be found at ClickToEmpower.org or through the ClickToEmpower portal on TheresaKathryn.com. To thank women for their support, the public can enter to win a Theresa Kathryn Business Bag by signing up for the TK ESS Newsletter on TheresaKathryn.com. As part of the program, Theresa Kathryn Business Bags will also be donating a luxury laptop bag to one lucky Allstate employee.
